A Note from Coach Carly

Hey Thrivers! Coach Carly here with a little pricing-for-the-holidays chat.

Yes, I know it seems like we can't possibly be there already, but the holidays are right around the corner.

For many of you, that means too many clients wanting to get in and not enough time. It's so important to start preparing for that situation now because the last thing you want is to be burnt out and dealing with upset clients who can't get in before their family get-together.

Here's how to get started:

1. Consider whether to do a price increase right now or wait until the holidays (or even January).

Remember, the best time of the year to do a price increase is right now because people are less likely to want to go find a new stylist before the holiday season.

If you've earned a price increase (based on the seven factors of pricing) and have held off, now might be the right time to roll it out.

Just make sure you are really showcasing your value!

2. Make a plan to implement peak and/or premium pricing in your business during busier times.

Premium pricing (1.5X your regular rate) is perfect for any days/times you come in that you normally wouldn't (think overtime). If a client wants to get in to see you but your schedule is full, offer one of these times at premium pricing. (Be careful that you aren't working too many days/hours to where your body can't handle it.) This can be a great way to squeeze a long-term client in and make a little extra money.

Peak pricing (1.2X your regular rate) is a great way to encourage guests to come during less peak times (like weekday mornings). Implement this possibly on evenings or weekends to spread out your schedule and demand a bit.

3. Revisit your service page on your website to ensure your services/booking process is simplified and streamlined.

Make it easy for guests to know exactly what and how to book.

Happy holiday and pricing planning!

Coach Carly
