Hello, hello Thrivers! Coach Gregory here and I wanted to talk about the importance of perceived value in our industry and how you can lean into this to create a life full of true wealth behind the chair.Â
First, we have to understand what perceived value is, which is how your client sees the benefits and values of your services.Â
Let’s talk about a few ways that you can implement this in your business:
→ Time. We know that people are “busier” than ever so their time is one of their most important assets. That doesn’t mean you have to rush a service though. Quality takes time, but it’s what you do with the time they’re in your chair that counts.
Think about processing times and check-in/check-out efficiency. Are there blocks of “down time” that you could use to elevate that value or to show guests that you respect their schedule in ways other stylists don’t?
→ Communication. Often relationships fail when one or both parties stop communicating or can’t get on the same page. Clients are one of those relationships that we have to nurture as well with great communication.
What can you do between visits, right after a visit, or even on important days (like birthday or anniversary) that communicates how much their business and support means to you? Helping them even when they aren’t in your chair can really set you apart.
→ Reputation. Your reputation is not only a critical part of your marketing efforts but also a key factor in your perceived value.
Are you regularly asking for reviews on Google Business (or even NextDoor, Yelp, and others depending on your TM)? Are you talking about your killer referral program with every single client in your chair? These conversations are a great way to create buzz around your business. In turn, it elevates the brand you have created. People love going where everyone else wants to go.
Dig in and lean into your target market research to see what can best raise your perceived value with your specific clients.Â

T&D Updates
We're bringing some exciting changes to the Training and Development (T&D) sessions!
We heard your feedback that the live T&Ds didn't always work with your schedule, so we're making some big shifts, namely...
T&Ds will shift from live all-in-one sessions to a prerecorded lesson with a live Q&A with speaker at a later date!
This will give you the opportunity to watch the T&D on your own time and gather any questions instead of trying to process it all on the spot.
 Thriving Stylist Method will get access to this new format in October.
Scaling Stylist and Thriving Leadership Methods will start the new format in December.
